Welcome to our FAQ section, these are just preliminary Q and A to give you a general idea of our processes. They vary by project and not all of them are applicable in specific situations. Feel free to call us or send us an email if you have any question or concern.
Do I need a website? Most industries can benefit greatly from a web presence. Check out your competition - if they have a strong online presence, you will probably have a hard time competing with anything less than they have. It will help your business build trust with both existing and potential customers.
How much does a website cost? That's a tricky question. The short answer is "$750 and up". The long answer starts with "What do you want the site to do?" You can get a better idea by talking with a Studio86 consultant. Once we have a better understanding of your requirements, we can provide you with an appropriate pricing.
How long does it take? The duration of a web site project varies according to its complexity. At Studio86, a basic website is usually completed in 1-2 weeks, a medium website can take 2-4 weeks, an advanced website or shopping cart site are usually completed in 5-8 weeks. These are just estimation, we will be able to give you specific time once we have a better understanding of your needs. It may be less than the estimated durations, we have faster turnaround times than many other web design agencies. The most common delay in the creation of a site is waiting for content (text, logo's, photo's) to be sent to us by the client.
I already have a site. Can you help me?Most certainly we can. Studio86 has taken over many abandoned websites. If your designer or developer can no longer help you, we'd be pleased to show you the Studio86 advantage. We can also discuss ways of improving and promoting your website with you. With so many of your competitors online, it is vital that your site is current both in content and design to ensure you don't miss out on clients and sales. I have a graphic designer already. Can you help with the rest of the website? Absolutely! Many of our clients have an internal graphic design department. We understand the need for brand congruency, and work well with other departments and vendors to accomplish a shared end vision and goal.I have just signed up for a website what happens now?You will need to provide Studio86 with a few preliminary materials so we can start on your design. Meanwhile, it is also a good idea to start compiling the materials you will want to put on the site like pictures and text.
What preliminary material do Studio86 need?Studio86 will need:
So what happens next?Studio86 will create a mock up of your webpage and send it to you via email. Proofing your mock up you should take a good look at the mock up and advise Studio86 of any changes you would like to make to the design. Have a good look at the menu items, colors, page size and text styles because this is what your website will look like - the text and pictures may change but the page will look the same.
What can I change when I get the mock up?You can request any changes you like at this stage. It is important to advise Studio86 of any changes you would like at this stage because once the site starts to be coded (which is the next step in production), changes to the page design and navigation can incur extra costs. If I'm happy with the design what happens next?Studio86 will provide you with an artwork approval form to complete. Once you have signed off and faxed the form back to us we can start coding your site. Now you can send us the content for your site.
Do I have to provide Studio86 with all the pictures on my website?Yes - while Studio86 does have a limited stock library we don't have specific images related to your business so we ask that you provide us with any images you wish to have on your site. Studio86 strongly recommends that you use professional photographs on your site. Studio86 can put you in touch with a professional photographer or recommend some stock photo suppliers to help you get the best look for your site. We recommend:
Do I have to provide Studio86 with all of the text on my website? You have two options when providing text to Studio86: How do I get traffic to my site? There are many ways to generate traffic to your site. The most important realization to make is to understand that this is an ongoing process. There is no magic pill, and anyone who offers you one is only peddling disappointment. Start with the basics of keyword research, write articles, submit press releases, and Studio86 can set up some pay-per-click campaigns, banner ads, link exchanges, affiliate programs and paid submissions as well.
What about Search Engines?Getting listed in Search Engines is important to generate traffic. There is absolutely no need to submit your site to them though - if built correctly, they'll find you, so make sure that other sites are linking to you. Getting to the top of search results is a very time-consuming and expensive process with all the competition these days. We recommend starting with Studio86's pay-per-click campaign first to get immediate traffic. What if i have more questions? If you have any questions about Studio86's websites or any of our other services, please feel free to contact us by clicking here |
